Day 55: Burton-upon-Trent (rest day)

On which I did my laundry and then ventured out (briefly) into 38 Centigrade. Staying here was a good decision: walking along a shade-less canal would have been suicide. The wind was actually hot. I guess that’s what happens when the air is significantly above body temperature.

I washed my laundry in the bath and dried it on this ingenious contraption using my trekking poles as a washing line and my hiking boots as counter-weights.
