More Anemones and an Awkward Tent

Wood Anemones Still Fabulous

More Wood Anemones in Guestling Woods

The anemones (see my post two weeks ago) are still sublime, and have become a sea of white in the spring sunshine. But the bluebells are on their way.

Ineptitude

The reviews warned me it was a bother to put up – but the best thing out there once I’d worked it out. I get a sinking feeling in advance of doing anything practical – perhaps that’s why it’s taken me a whole month since it arrived to have a go at erecting it.

I took it out to ‘the fields’. The first thing I realised was that I had forgotten the tent pegs. Actually that didn’t matter too much – the ground was so wet I just used sticks. It wasn’t as hard as I had imagined, although it does look a little bit ragged in the photo, and unlikely to stand up to more than a gentle breeze. I’ll practice.

But WOW, what a tent! It weighs just 19oz (539g). As far as I am aware it is the lightest two-man tent in the world and about half the weight of the next lightest brand.
